This Santa Rosa woman in her 40s had previously had 280 cc silicone breast implants and an anchor mastopexy by another Sonoma County plastic surgeon. Almost 20 years had gone by and her implants were trapped in a distorted, high position. She was unable to wear T shirts as her breast mound was low and her implants were high.We reviewed her options and the fact that this would be a difficult re-operation given all her previous incisions and the position of her implants. She chose slightly smaller 250 cc silicone implants. In our Santa Rosa plastic surgery suite she underwent removal of the previous implants, replacement with smaller cohesive silicone 250 cc implants. The pectoralis muscle had not been properly released so we released it medially and inferiorly to allow the implants to be in the proper position. A repeat anchor mastopexy (standard breast lift) was done at the same time. She is shown about 6 months after surgery with marked improvement of her shape and in the position of her implants relative to her breast tissue. She is now able to wear T-shirts and other clothes that never fit before and she is thrilled!
